Our Mission
Our vision is a place where there are no unwanted pets.

Our mission is to educate on responsible pet ownership, facilitate and support transfers, fundraise to aid in advanced medical care, and enrich the lives of all pets while they await their forever home.

Turning Rescues into Pets (TRIP) was an idea born out of hope.

Four dedicated volunteers came together united by the passion to make a difference.

Everyone has that defining moment, one that gets the wheels rolling.  For us, it was a dog.  She was a two-time owner surrender and turned out she needed knee surgery… on both knees.  Week after week, she waited for funding to complete both knees.  Week after week, she stayed in that run with limited exercise due to her failing knees.  This was the straw…
Since TRIP gained 501(c)3 certification in November of 2019, with the full support of our community, we have had the joy and privilege to immediately fund every special case thrown at us.  From ortho cases, to tooth extractions, to neonatal equipment, to the most recent need of a special pup named Lady (featured below).

Lady was found in a public park bathroom.  She was left with a box of Popeyes and a note stating her name and that she is a good dog.  He promised to return and asked that whoever found her would be nice and give her chicken and water.  Lady was then taken to the shelter to await contact with her owner.  Turns out her owner had fallen on tough times and just wanted to get his affairs in order so he could get his best friend back.  TRIP (and the community) jumped into action and purchased her an ortho bed, kennel, and pad; all in preparation to be reunited with her loving owner.  Just as we thought this was the happy ending, Lady’s story only got better.  Through an amazing partnership of St Charles Parish Animal Shelter and Wings of Rescue, Lady (along with many dogs and cats from SCPAS and St Tammany Animal Services) caught a plane to Virginia Beach.  From VBSPCA, she will catch a ride 6 hours to unite with her extended family and await the arrival of her human, arriving on a bus made possible by donations to TRIP.

This is our WHY.
